Job Summary

This position serves as an Accountant (Staff), located in the Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), IT Business Management Staff, Financial Execution and Oversight located in Washington, DC. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a subject matter expert providing analysis and advice regarding accounting programs and financial systems to OCIO's Working Capital Fund.

Key Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities for an Accountant (Staff) GS-0510-12 generally include, but are not limited to, the following: Reviews accounting documentation and supporting materials for accuracy and completeness. Records and monitor commitments, obligations, accruals, reimbursements, and other financial transactions. Researches and resolve discrepancies identified during account reconciliations and financial reviews.

Reviews financial systems and accounting processes to identify opportunities for system and operational improvements. Advises management on accounting matters, financial system improvements, internal controls, and the financial condition of DOJ-OCIO programs.
