Job Summary

Corrections professionals who foster a humane and secure environment and ensure public safety by preparing individuals for successful reentry into our communities.

Major Duties

Located in the Administration Division, Finance Branch. May be assigned to any of the Systems Accountant positions within the Branch. Responsible for the development, design, implementation and maintenance of sophisticated and complex fully-automated financial management systems for the Bureau of Prisons. Maintains the Agency's financial management systems by continual analysis and evaluation to determine compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements and ensure that they meet the administrative needs of the Agency. Prepares written detail specifications for systems modifications as required. Develops and revises operating manuals, directives and agency policies to reflect systems modifications and new procedures and designs related accounting forms. Provides technical advice to Agency management and accountants when accounting problems relative to systems design and revision involve great difficulty and responsibility.
