This vacancy is for a GS-0525-5/6/7, Accounting Technician located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, USCG FINANCE CENTER in CHESAPEAKE, Virginia.
You will serve as a Accounting Technician and be responsible for performing a variety of accounting duties, utilizing a professional knowledge of accounting principles and procedures in carrying out assignments. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Managing multiple accounts includes controlling inter-related subsidiary accounts, preparing supporting schedules, conducting analyses, handling subdivisions with summary ledgers, and performing adjustments, balancing, and reconciliation. Reviewing and analyzing transactions, reconciling documents and accounts. Reviewing reports, analyzing errors, correcting actions. Reviewing unliquidated obligation files upon receipt.
