This vacancy is for an Administrative Officer in the Economic Development Administration within the Department of Commerce.
As an Administrative Officer, you will perform the following duties: Serves as the principal advisor to the Director for Management and Resources and the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Economic Development/Chief Operating Officer on all matters involving administrative management, human capital, organizational effectiveness, and mission support operations for the Economic Development Administration (EDA).
Provides leadership and direction over bureau-wide administrative programs that support the accomplishment of EDA's mission and strategic objectives. The incumbent directs EDA's Human Capital program, ensuring alignment with Department of Commerce human resources policies, Office of Personnel Management regulations, and strategic workforce planning objectives.
Directs bureau-wide administrative support services and manages strategic relationships with the Department of Commerce Office of Human Resources Management, the General Services Administration, and other Federal shared service providers. Provides oversight of EDA's directives and policy management program by directing development, coordination, implementation, and maintenance of administrative policies, directives, standard operating procedures, and internal guidance.
Provides strategic leadership for bureau-wide administrative management and advises the Director for Management and Resources and the Deputy Assistant Secretary/Chief Operating Officer on administrative policy, organizational effectiveness, operational risk management, and resource planning.
Administrative programs directed include property management, facilities management, Personal Identity Verification (PIV) card administration, records management, information governance, occupational health and safety, learning and development, performance and talent management, Paperwork Reduction Act compliance, Continuity of Operations, time and attendance administration, travel management, transit benefits, and related mission support functions.
The incumbent develops long-range administrative strategies, establishes organizational priorities, allocates resources, evaluates organizational performance, and leads cross-functional initiatives that improve operational efficiency and strengthen organizational performance.
