Job Summary

This position is located in the Office of the Commissioner for Trademarks, Office of the Deputy Commissioner for Trademark Administration. This position provides supervision of assigned personnel and a wide variety of administrative management functions including administrative policies, procedures, and directives development; human resources management, position management, budget and finances; information technology; procurement and property management; and records management.

Major Duties

The physical worksite for this position is located in Alexandria, Virginia. Presence at the Alexandria, VA campus is required for this role, as it includes on site functions that must be performed in person. Position may be eligible for situational telework in accordance with agency policy/business unit discretion. The agency currently allows for 52 hours of telework per calendar year. You are an ideal candidate for this position if: You enjoy advising and providing counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and management directives. You have a passion for selecting or recommending selections of candidates for vacancies, promotions, details, and reassignments in consideration of skills and qualifications, mission requirements, and fairness issues and objectives. You are excited about providing advice to senior level managers regarding administrative management matters affecting the implementation and efficient execution of programs and day-to-day operations. You are motivated to design solutions on assigned program areas and daily operations and identifies ways to streamline processes, reduce costs, conserve resources, and improve the quality and timeliness of customer service to meet increasing demands of Office workloads. You are delighted to manage and support a full range of administrative activities for Trademarks related to budget, human resources, information technology, procurement and maintenance agreements, property management, and records custodianship. You are enthusiastic about serving as the lead business unit point of contact for services related to timekeeping, travel management, ethics clearances, processing of employee training expenses and employee awards. Monitors business unit for timely preparation of annual performance plans and appraisals.
