Job Summary

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is seeking an Administrative Officer to provide administrative management and advisory services in support of organizational operations including budget and financial management, human resources, procurement, property, etc. Learn more at U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Key Responsibilities

This position is located within the Department of the Interior, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Region 8, Ventura Field Office.The major duties of this position include but are not limited to the following: Provides administrative management advice and recommendations to leadership on organizational operations, policies, resource utilization, and management effectiveness.

Analyzes administrative programs and processes, identifies operational issues and trends, and develops recommendations to improve organizational efficiency and effectiveness. Formulates, executes, and monitors budgets; analyzes financial data and funding trends; tracks obligations and expenditures; and recommends adjustments to address program and funding needs.

Advises management on human resources matters, including staffing, position management, personnel actions, employee development, organizational structure, and workforce utilization. Manages procurement, acquisition, property, space, and related administrative support activities; interprets applicable regulations and ensures organizational compliance.

Coordinates administrative programs with Regional/HQ offices and external partners and serves as a liaison on budget, finance, human resources, IT, and other business operations. Supervises administrative and support staff by assigning and reviewing work, evaluating performance, approving leave, addressing employee issues, and identifying training needs.
