This is an excepted service appointment under the Pathways Recent Graduates Program. This appointment is a one-year career development program. Upon successful completion of the program requirements, you may be eligible for non-competitive conversion to a two-year term appointment.
A Pathways participant who is non-competitively converted to term appointment in the competitive service may later be converted to a permanent position in the competitive service before the term appointment expires.
If selected, the incumbent of this position provides a variety of administrative support functions in the areas of acquisition of goods and services, facilities, supply inventories, building and equipment maintenance, mail management, and information receptionist. Typical work assignments will include: Ensuring building maintenance and repairs are performed promptly and adequately.
Providing personal property management support by maintaining accountable property inventory and records. Monitoring office supply levels and ensuring supply areas are organized and stocked. Monitoring service contracts and agreements for office equipment and other materials. Providing clerical support by answering multi-line telephone systems, greeting and escorting visitors, sorting and distributing mail.
Producing a variety of documents utilizing word processing software functions, working from handwritten drafts, edited copies, or electronic files. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress. Travel Required: Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.
All academic degrees and coursework must be completed at an institution that has obtained accreditation or pre-accreditation status from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in order for it to be credited towards qualifications.
