This vacancy is for an Administrative Support Specialist in the Bureau of Industry and Security within the Department of Commerce.
As an Administrative Support Specialist, you will perform the following duties: Evaluates the administrative support operations of OEE program operations and recommends improvements to various internal procedures and methods. Identifies areas needing emphasis, exercise guidance to ensure programs and initiatives of the Special Agent in Charge are accurately meeting management expectations and alerts the Special Agent in Charge if they are negative.
Edits a variety of reports and correspondence ensuring a quality product, perform queries of Bureau of Industry and Security databases and databases provided by other agencies, and other written reports based on findings. Reviews, routes, and controls mail, retaining items of special importance for personal attention of the supervisor. Searches files for background or requests information from other divisions.
May compose routine replies in accordance with the supervisor's guidance. . Advises writers of the inadequacies. Advises subordinate units on administrative and procedural requirements and instructions.
