This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The incumbent supports the OCJCS Public Affairs Office and as such, directly collaborates with fellow public affairs and administrative peers to include Office of the Secretary of Defense. This position directly supports the Special Assistant for Public Affairs, Deputy Special Assistant for Public Affairs, and the Executive Assistant as well as the entire OCJCS/PA team as needed.
As a Administrative Support Specialist (Public Affairs) at the GS-0301-9/11 some of your typical work assignments may include: Serves as an Administrative Support Specialist for the Joint Staff Public Affairs office, providing administrative management for the OCJCS Public Affairs Office, providing administrative support to the 20+ team of military and civilian personnel.
Will exercise mature decision making to analyze and interpret research while providing solutions and measuring effectiveness, efficiency to problems or challenges. Responsible for receiving, reviewing, and rejecting/accepting invoices for goods and services as well as coordinating the procurement of office supplies through vendors and associated Joint Staff offices.
Serves as records manager for the OCJCS Public Affairs Office, ensuring records created are managed and maintained within applicable guidelines. Develops and facilitates memoranda, letters, spreadsheets, and other official documentation in support of executive meetings, special projects, and maintenance of personnel and contact rosters.

accredited college or university has given full credit for the foreign courses. Unofficial transcripts from U.S. Department of Education accredited colleges, universities, schools, or institutions listing your name, the name of the school, the date and degree awarded, and the list of classes and credits earned are acceptable for the application process. If selected, official transcripts are required before a firm job offer is made.
A photocopy of your degree/diploma is not acceptable. When relying on foreign education, submit transcripts and a copy of the equivalency evaluation results letter with a course-by-course listing.
