This position is located in the Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Southeast Network (VISN 7), VA Augusta Health Care System (V AAHCS) in Augusta, Georgia located in the Department/Service Name. The Advanced Medical Support Assistant (AMSA) position serves as a Consult Coordinator for Referral Coordination.
Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional The AMSA works collaboratively with other members of expanded health care teams (i.e., Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT), specialty care) including Community Care providers, pharmacists, social workers, dieticians, behavioral health staff, etc. to provide a robust interdisciplinary approach to care.
Important interfaces and collaborations also occur with larger health care system providers including VA and non-VA specialists, hospitals, diagnostic and treating facilities, and community-based programs. The AMSA works collaboratively in an interdisciplinary coordinated care delivery model within Outpatient Clinics.
The AMSA develops and maintains effective and efficient communication with the patient, interdisciplinary coordinated care delivery model teams, VA medical centers, and other agencies. Some duties include, but not limited to the following: The AMSA must possess working knowledge of clinic processes and services to function in and interact with various clinics throughout the hospital.
The employee must have knowledge of and the ability to apply policies and procedures associated with operational activities that affect workload data. The AMSA works collaboratively in an interdisciplinary coordinated care delivery model and performs receptionist duties, customer service and other duties assigned for the proper and timely treatment of patients and maintains appointment schedules for one or more outpatient clinics.
The AMSA will explain the VA's mandate to collect insurance information of veterans, their families, and other eligible patients. He/she collects, scans and updates health insurance information serving a major role in the revenue process. The AMSA must screen/receive phone calls in a courteous and timely manner, determine the nature of requests and provide the information desired using privacy rules and established clinic processes.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases. Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year) Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior [work experience] or military service experience.
Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child. Child Care Subsidy: After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66.
