NONAPPROPRIATED FUND POSITION DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Commercial Sponsorship Specialist BUSINESS TITLE: Advertising Sales and Sponsorship Manager FLSA: Exempt JOB SERIES: 1101 PAY LEVEL: NF-04 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Serves as the manager for the MCCS Commercial Sponsorship and Advertising Program, responsible for planning, developing, organizing, budgeting, administering, and evaluating all sponsorship and advertising activities.
Leads the sponsorship/sales team and oversees the full lifecycle of sponsorship acquisition, contract development, activation, and reporting. Develops and solicits corporate partnerships in both U.S. and Japan markets to build a diversified sponsorship and advertising portfolio. Conducts market research, identifies new business opportunities, and develops proposals tailored to MCCS programs, events, and media platforms.
Negotiates terms to maximize value and ensure agreements comply with DoD, USMC, legal, and procurement requirements. Initiates, routes, and tracks sponsorship and advertising agreements through required review channels, including Legal, Finance, and Command. Maintains accurate documentation and ensures all agreements are properly recorded in MCCS sponsorship management systems.
Holds designated signature authority for commercial sponsorship agreements within approved thresholds. Oversees activation and fulfillment of sponsorship deliverables across print, digital, online, social media, out of home media, and event environments. Coordinates with Marketing, operational divisions, and program managers to ensure timely execution of all contracted obligations.
Ensures post event and post campaign evaluations are completed, including analytics, ROI reporting, and after action documentation. Provides leadership, supervision, and training for the commercial sponsorship team. Assigns work, establishes priorities, evaluates performance, and provides coaching and development. Ensures staff understand MCCS policies, sponsorship compliance requirements, and customer service standards.
Manages sponsorship revenue tracking, financial reconciliation, and reporting. Coordinates with Finance to ensure accurate processing of payments, audit ready documentation, and adherence to accounting procedures. Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy, professionalism, and responsiveness. Communicates positively, resolves issues promptly, and escalates concerns appropriately.
Adheres to safety regulations and standards and promptly reports hazards, injuries, or property damage. Supports EEO principles and maintains a workplace free from harassment. Performs other related duties as assigned.
