THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This position is located in the Sortie Generation Section of the Aircraft Generation Division within the Logistics Directorate of an Air National Guard Flying Wing. DEFINITION OF AREA(S) OF CONSIDERATION: Area 1 = Enlisted members of the Louisiana National Guard.
Duties & Responsibilities: (WG10) (1) Performs inspections, functional checks, and preventive maintenance on aircraft to include periodic, phase, hourly, preflight, postflight, calendar, thru-flight, and special inspections such as fuel contamination, emergency equipment, and oil sampling. (2) Troubleshoots and performs unscheduled maintenance on assigned and transient aircraft, utilizing various gauges, meters, measuring devices and other related test equipment.
(3) May be required to perform user and organizational level maintenance on assigned support equipment, including inspection, repair, modification, and corrosion prevention. (4) Provides data for aircraft maintenance historical records, complete maintenance data collection, man-hour accounting, and other forms as required. (5) Instructs, directs, and assigns maintenance repair tasks to drill status guard members.
Observes work and ensures compliance with standard procedures and applicable technical publications. (6) Complies with safety, fire, security, and housekeeping regulations. Ensures that material and equipment are properly stored, protected, maintained and secured. (7) Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations such as MEI, ORI, IG and UE inspections, mobility and command support exercises.
(WG12) (1) Directs, monitors or performs overall maintenance, servicing, inspections and documentation for one or more aircraft. Work is performed in complex working conditions under time and/or mission constraints to include all weather and night operations. (2) Ensures aircraft documentation and Maintenance Information Systems (MIS) accurately reflect the airworthiness of the Aircraft.
Provides technical guidance and assistance to flight crews regarding observed discrepancies and experienced in-flight characteristics and system malfunctions. Performs or assists in aircrew debriefing when required. (3) Performs in-process and final inspection of aircraft and components undergoing repair, overhaul and/or modification to verify and certify by signature adherence to work techniques, procedures and quality standards established by applicable publications.
(4) Plans, develops and conducts training during the technician work week to a multi facet workforce comprised of from 3 to 8 assigned military positions. Training sessions are designed to provide instructions in techniques of repair and maintenance of aircraft and related equipment. (5) Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises and Operations Other Than War (OOTW).
(6) Complies with safety, fire, security, environmental and housekeeping regulations. Ensures that material and equipment are properly and safely protected and maintained. (7) Performs other as duties as assigned.
