This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position. ARTs are part of the regular career civil service and enjoy all the benefits granted to Federal employees in the competitive civil service. In addition, ARTs are required to maintain their active membership in the AF Reserve unit where assigned. ARTs receive on average one weekend of military training per month. The primary purpose of this position is: to serve as the aircraft dedicated inspection dock coordinator performing such duties as being technical authority, having custody of an assigned aircraft, with primary responsibility for performing, and/or overseeing the maintenance and periodic inspections to the assigned aircraft. DUTY 1: Serves as Inspection Dock coordinator of assigned aircraft, responsible for performing, coordinating, and/or overseeing maintenance, positioning, troubleshooting and servicing on the aircraft. DUTY 2: Repairs and maintains aircraft. DUTY 3: Performs troubleshooting: Tests and checks, or oversees such actions by others, with test equipment and standards. DUTY 4: Certifies work produced under the USAF Technical Order Program. DUTY 5: Utilizes safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work area.
