This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position. ARTs are part of the regular career civil service and enjoy all the benefits granted to Federal employees in the competitive civil service. In addition, ARTs are required to maintain their active membership in the AF Reserve unit where assigned. ARTs receive on average one weekend of military training per month.

The primary purpose of this position is: to serve as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) performing such duties as installing, adjusting, aligning, troubleshooting, and performing final functional and operational tests on a variety of major aircraft systems, their assembles, and components such as airframe, landing gear, power plant, gear boxes, pumps, and hydraulic, pressurization, utility, fuel, oil, pneumatic, and flight control systems and to provide training to reservists in the accomplishment of tasks set forth herein.
Duties: Perform inspection and troubleshooting on a variety of major aircraft systems, their assemblies, and components. Use and maintain various standard and specialized tools and test equipment of the trade. Position, maintain, disassemble, repair, and reassemble aircraft systems, their assemblies, and components in accordance with applicable technical orders and specifications.
Accomplish aircraft maintenance and equipment record keeping, both manual and automated, associated with aircraft maintenance and repair. Utilize safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work area. Verify and certify work processes and procedures and adequacy of work accomplished by certified co-workers and trainees.

This position requires a Secret security clearance.
