This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position. ARTs are part of the regular career civil service and enjoy all the benefits granted to Federal employees in the competitive civil service. In addition, ARTs are required to maintain their active membership in the AF Reserve unit where assigned. ARTs receive on average one weekend of military training per month.

The primary purpose of this position is: to serve as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position; to verify and analyzeon and off equipment, malfunctions, troubleshoot, calibrate, modify, fabricate, test, align, inspect, repair, configure,deconfigure, and load assigned integrated nuclear/conventional weapons delivery systems; and to provide trainingto reservists in the accomplishment of tasks set forth herein.
Troubleshoots integrated nuclear/conventional weapons systems, electronic and electromechanicalcomponents, fire control systems, electro-environmental systems, bomb navigation systems, subassemblies,Alternate Mission Equipment, and test equipment to determine nature of malfunctions and corrective actionsrequired both on and off equipment.
Performs maintenance, repair, inspection, fabrication and modification of integrated nuclear/conventional weapons systems electronic and electro-mechanical components, fire control systems, electro-environmental systems, bomb navigation systems, and their subassemblies for both on and off equipment.
Performs pretest, operational, functional, electrical, mechanical, and final testing of integrated nuclear/conventional weapon systems Removes/installs integrated nuclear/conventional weapons systems electronic components, fire controlsystems, electro-environmental systems, bomb navigation systems, and subassemblies for both on and offequipment and associated test equipment.
Accomplishes configuration changes of integrated nuclear/conventional weapons control, launch, release,and suspension assemblies on assigned aircraft and equipment based on mission requirements. Performs explosive operations, loads and unloads, positions, arms, and safes all assignednuclear/conventional air munitions and pyrotechnics on assigned aircraft and or equipment.
