Job Summary

This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position. ARTs are part of the regular career civil service and enjoy all the benefits granted to Federal employees in the competitive civil service. In addition, ARTs are required to maintain their active membership in the AF Reserve unit where assigned. ARTs receive on average one weekend of military training per month.

Key Responsibilities

The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as the Air Reserve Technician (ART), flight supervisor, exercising technical and administrative supervision over journey level mechanics accomplishing a variety of munitions maintenance, armament, and equipment duties. Trains reservists in the duties and responsibilities set forth herein. Duties: 1: Based on established work schedules, determines work sequence, and makes work assignments accordingly.

2: Performs work direction responsibilities. Performs administrative responsibilities. Prepares effective training plans to maximize Reserve training. 3: Applies Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO)/Equal Opportunity Treatment (EOT) principles and requirements to all personnel management actions and decisions, and ensures all personnel are treated in a manner free of discrimination.

4: Ensures education in, compliance with, and practice of security directives, good safety, and health habits in all work areas. Ensures employees with access to classified information comply with security directives. 5: Complies with all Federal, State, DOD, USAF, and local regulations concerning hazardous materials/ waste munitions assets.
