THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT PNEUDRAULIC SYSTEMS MECHANIC, Position Description Number D1367000 and is part of the KS 190 Air Refueling Wing, National Guard.
As an AIRCRAFT PNEUDRAULIC SYSTEMS MECHANIC WG-8268-10, you will perform maintenance and operational and functional checks on assigned pneudraulic systems. Troubleshoot, remove, inspect, install, repair, modify, rebuild, and/or test pneudraulic systems and components for aircraft pneudraulic systems, associated ground support equipment, and/or related test equipment. Accomplishes periodic and special inspections on hydraulic components.
Inspects all components and subsystems for operation, internal, and external leakage and servicing. Operate portable test stands for checkout of pneudraulic system. Remove, install, and/or repair Pneudraulic components from aircraft and associated aerospace ground equipment. Remove, disassemble, clean, repair, assemble components, and tests completed unit. Operate test equipment for all hydraulic components.
Inspects for cracks, scratches, nicks, and holes on seals, gaskets, packings, and hoses. Modify systems and their components. Rigs, adjusts, and aligns hydraulic components to ensure maximum operating efficiency. Polish cylinders and pistons to ensure proper fit. Investigates pneudraulic failures to determine causes and accomplishes corrective maintenance. Other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: This position works on a 5/4/9 compressed work schedule that consists of a 5-day workweek, then a 4-day workweek (eight 9-hour days and one 8-hour day and an SDO, Scheduled Day Off) to complete the 80-hour pay period. Work schedule is subject to change based on mission requirements.
