The primary purpose of this position is to lead three or more workers to accomplish trades and/or labor work on a substantially full time and continuing basis. Leader is responsible to both perform the work assigned by a supervisor and ensures that subordinates completed assigned work consistent with trades and labor standards.
- Leads a team of Aircraft Survival and Flight Equipment Repair workers. - Performs work. Performs nonsupervisory trades and/or labor work that is usually of the same kind and level as members of the work crew led. - Inspects, tests, troubleshoots, maintains, disassembles, repairs, installs, modifies, stores, issues, fits, and adjusts aircrew flight equipment and chemical/biological defense equipment. - Disassembles, assembles, inspects, fabricates, modifies, alters, cleans, repairs, and packs aerospace components such as protective clothing and covers, upholstery, thermal radiation barriers, flotation equipment, emergency evacuation systems, and parachutes. - Performs documentation and Quality Assurance/Control Inspections (QA)(QCI) tasks. Assists with aircrew flight equipment continuation and chemical/biological defense equipment training classes. Utilizes safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work area.
