The Division of Enforcement, Complex Financial Instruments Unit (CFI) is seeking a Supervisory General Attorney (Assistant Director). As an Assistant Director, you will serve under the general direction of the Complex Financial Instruments Unit Chief (CFI).
In this role as an Assistant Director, you will be responsible for: Managing and coordinating the work of teams, which can include attorneys, accountants, experts, and support staff, and performs a full range of supervisory duties. Developing and promoting investigative techniques that emphasize efficiency and creativity to facilitate effective fact-gathering and avoid undue delay; sets priorities and schedules for the completion of work.
Mentoring and training staff; identifying development and training opportunities for employees; and recommending promotions or reassignments. Both directly and in a supervisory role, proactively identifying risk areas and potential misconduct through market surveillance, data analytics, outreach and other means and evaluate information obtained for potential violations of federal securities laws, rules and regulations.
Participating with other supervisors in the management of the CFI Unit; consulting with and advising Unit Chief and/or senior managers on matters relating to personnel, CFI Unit priorities and office procedures. Regularly coordinating with the DOJ, FBI, and other domestic law enforcement on parallel investigations; coordinates or interacts with foreign law enforcement and regulatory counterparts.
