The Assistant Financial Manager - Assistant Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will assist the CFO in every day management responsibilities in close relationship with the Facility Director, staff, and operating officials from the various services of the Medical Center.
Major duties include but are not limited to: Assist the CFO by advising of current historical data necessary for formulating the annual budget program. Assist in assembling, preparing, and justifying the station's annual budget plan. Audit cost records in the various operating areas where responsibility for budget control has been vested.
Oversee the distribution of funds to operating services and recommend to the CFO when major or minor changes should be made in financial operating plans. Develop new reports to provide a clear picture of the station fiscal program. Ensure a comprehensive accounting system, including asset, liability, expense, income, budgetary, and capital accounts.
Review and approve prepared submissions to the VISN Office and VHA Central Office of various special and periodic accounting and financial reports. Conducting internal audit program to ensure policies and procedures are being followed and are effective. Directly supervise various management and administration staff. Resolve staff complaints concerning work conditions and related matters. Performs other duties as assigned.
