The Assistant Fleet Manager is responsible for performing a variety of duties with primary oversight responsibility of four major transportation programs: Mobile Asset Repair Program, Small Boat Program, Fuel Program and the Mobile Asset Disposal Program. In this position, you will: Provide authoritative technical leadership for the planning, operation, and maintenance of the Smithsonian's diverse fleet. Provide full supervisory and managerial authority over programs.
Develop and implement maintenance management controls and regulatory directives that ensure full compliance with maritime laws. Provide guidance to technicians, analysts, and program staff. Evaluate performance against established productivity and quality standards, provide constructive feedback, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
