The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a legal advisor, providing support for all acquisition activities including advice on source selection, contract formation, contract administration, claims and protests.
Advice, Counsel, and Representation. With minimal oversight, provides program managers, contracting officers, and other acquisition professionals comprehensive legal and related business advice and counsel on all issues arising from or related to all AFICA activities and assists MAJCOMs on major procurements and issues of first impression. Recognized as a subject matter expert in government procurement law, the incumbent is fully knowledgeable of all major substantive federal laws, regulations, and policies relating to the practice of government procurement and related commercial law and litigation.
Must be a graduate of a law school accredited by the American Bar Association, and be currently licensed as an attorney, in active (or equivalent) status and in good standing, with the bar of a U.S. state, territory, or commonwealth. The attorney must maintain such bar membership in at least one jurisdiction during the entire course of employment with the Air Force.
