The primary purpose of this position is to serve as senior acquisition legal advisor to the Commander, Air Force Installation Contracting Center (AFICC) and HQ AFICC staff, and, advice procurement officials on major programs with AF wide impact, and assure quality, consistent, and timely advice is provided to all Air Force Legal Operations Agency (AFLOA) HQ AFICC clients and Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.
The incumbent serves as acquisition attorney at the Wright Patterson AFB location to the AFICC/CC and HQ AFICC staff elements. As acquisition attorney at Wright Patterson AFB, the incumbent advices the AFICC/CC, HQ AFICC staff, and subordinate elements on complex, major acquisitions program, commodity purchases, logistics programs, source selection and contract administration activities. Recognized as a subject matter expert in government procurement law, the incumbent is fully knowledgeable of all major substantive federal laws, regulations, and policies relating to the practice of government procurement and related commercial law and litigation
Must be a graduate of a law school accredited by the American Bar Association, and be currently licensed as an attorney, in active (or equivalent) status and in good standing, with the bar of a U.S. state, territory, or commonwealth. The attorney must maintain such bar membership in at least one jurisdiction during the entire course of employment with the Air Force.
