This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of the General Counsel (OGC), Legal Counsel Division (LCD). The primary purpose of this position is to provide legal support to the Department's Office for Civil Rights and Civil Liberties (CRCL) in the exercise of its authorities, including its administration of the equal employment opportunity program. Non-BU: This is a non-bargaining unit position.
As an Attorney-Advisor (General), GS-0905-14/15, your typical work assignments may include: Providing legal advice regarding equal employment opportunity (EEO) program activities and matters involving policies, initiatives, operations, and program management and oversight. Reviewing for legal sufficiency documents prepared by the EEO program, including, but not limited to Final Agency Decisions and Final Agency actions.
Providing written and oral advice on the application of federal laws to the Department's and DHS components' EEO programs. Performing legal analysis and research, conducting or participating as necessary in meetings, conferences, and consultations and prepare memoranda. May be assigned tasks within the Office of the General Counsel, Legal Counsel Division, to ensure the most efficient use of the resources of the office.
