Job Summary

The United States Postal Service is seeking to fill multiple attorney positions in one of the following locations: Denver, CO, Long Beach, CA, San Diego, CA, San Francisco, CA, Salt Lake City, UT, or St. Louis, MO

Major Duties

The successful candidates will handle heavy employment caseloads before the Federal District Court and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, as well as providing advice to internal clients on a variety of employment matters, including but not limited to those arising under Title VII, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Rehabilitation Act, and the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). Experience practicing employment law in federal courts or before the EEOC or MSPB is preferred. Current litigation experience, including discovery, drafting and filing motions, mediation, and participation in trials and hearings, is also preferred. Litigation experience should be specifically documented in the applicant's resume. Duties include but are not limited to: Conducts legal research and prepares written material for use in representing the Postal Service and advising postal management officials. Participates in conferences necessary to representing or advising Postal Service officials. Directly advises postal management officials and represents the Postal Service in legal matters involving outside parties. Prepares replies to inquiries from Congress, government agencies, and the public. Prepares opinions, memoranda, decisions, regulations, testimonies, or formal filings in proceedings in which the Postal Service is a party.

Education

To be eligible for the Attorney position, you must possess a Juris Doctorate from an American Bar Association accredited law school.
