Job Summary

This position is located at Chinle Service Unit, Chinle Comprehensive Health Care Facility, Division of Clinical Services, Rehabilitation Department, Audiology Section, Chinle, AZ. The primary purpose of this position is to provide professional work requiring the application of knowledge of concepts of Audiology and the integration of such work with other medical and therapeutic services. A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R.

37.5 (2021).

Key Responsibilities

Performs a wide range of audiologic services across all patient age ranges from neonatal to geriatric to ascertain the type and degree of hearing loss, including specialized diagnostic measures such as Auditory Brainstem Response testing.

Provides professional counseling to patients regarding the testing process, hearing, hearing loss and its adverse effects on general health, audiologic and/or ENT intervention as applicable, and in home rehabilitation measures and future educational possibilities and resources to parents/guardians/caregivers of children with hearing loss.

Performs comprehensive hearing aid evaluations, selection, and fitting of appropriate hearing aids and assistive listening devices based on the type and degree of hearing loss. Assists with coordination of audiologic screening and follow-up with state health agencies, school audiologists, school nurses, public health nurses, and other interested agencies when required.

Assist with strategic planning, policy formulation, budget management, human resource management, performance improvement, total quality management, information management, equipment and supplies management, infection control, risk management and safety, and front office management as appropriate. Collaborates with the supervisor on establishing a working budget for the fiscal year, policy formulation and strategies for improving delivery of Audiology Services.

This position has an education requirement.
