Job Summary

About the position: This position will be assigned to the 30 FSS/Community Services Flight Collocated Club. Physical Effort: Requires walking or standing for prolonged periods of time. Requires frequent light to moderate lifting and carrying objects weighing 5-15 pounds, pushing and pulling objects weighing 10-20 pounds, and occasionally lifting up to 40 pounds. Heavier objects, such as beer kegs, are usually transported with the aid of a dolly.

Major Duties

The purpose of this position is to mix and serve pre-mixed alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages from a limited service bar. Regular & Recurring Duties and Responsibilities: Operates limited service bars. Prepares a limited variety of alcoholic drinks by selecting proper premix and garnish. Serves beer, soda and wine. Serves patrons directly or delivers to waiter. Receives payment, operates cash register, and makes and returns change to patrons or waiter. Sets up bar for operation and obtains cash bank. Maintains work area neat and clean. Washes bar equipment, glassware, and utensils. Stocks service bars and assists higher-level bartender as required. May be required to prepare documentation for cash funds accountability. Performs other related duties as assigned. EVALUATING FACTORS: Skills and Knowledge: Knowledge of correct proportions and mixtures to use in preparing beverages. Ability to recognize intoxicated or unruly patrons and to resolve the problem or seek assistance if needed. Ability to follow cash handling procedures. Responsibility: Supervisor provides guidance and evaluates work performance and is available to answer questions and resolve customer dissatisfactions. Work is evaluated on ability to carry out supervisors' instructions concerning work sequence, procedures, methods, and deadlines. Physical Effort: Requires frequent light to moderate lifting and carrying of objects weighing 5 to 15 pounds, pushing and pulling objects weighing 10 to 20 pounds and occasionally lifting up to and over 40 pounds. Heavier objects such as beer kegs are usually transported with the aid of a dolly. Working Conditions: Works inside with adequate lighting, heat, and ventilation.
