This position is located in the Business Office at the Yakama Service Unit in Toppenish, Washington. The incumbent serves as a Billing Technician responsible for processing claims on-line to third party carriers which include Medicare, Medicare Part D, Medicaid and all other third-party payors. A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021).
Process insurance billing functions including prior authorizations, claim preparation, demographic verification, and third-party insurance data entry to ensure accurate and timely reimbursements. Research and resolve denied or aged claims, maintained accounts receivable records, and collaborated with billing, accounting, and registration teams to maximize collections and claim resolution. Manage patient billing documentation and correspondence by retrieving medical records, maintaining electronic and paper filing systems, and supporting compliance with third-party billing regulations and reporting requirements.
