You will serve as a Biologist with National Park Service at Morristown National Historic Park. This is a Career-Seasonal position. Career-Seasonal appointments are permanent positions and include the same benefits as Career appointments, but do not provide work on a year-round basis. You will work for approximately February to December, and you will be in a non-pay status for the remainder of the year.
As a Biologist, you will perform the following duties: Inventories, monitors, restores, and manages activities to support the conservation of park natural resources. Assesses vegetation conditions, invasive species, insect pests, diseases, and other natural resource concerns; recommends and implements appropriate management actions. Plans and conducts biological field studies. Collects, analyzes, and manages scientific data.
Develops work plans, restoration strategies, technical reports, and other resource management documents. Prepares environmental compliance documents, including Environmental Assessments (EAs). Reviews Environmental Impact Statements (EISs). Utilizes Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and other resource management technologies. Oversees contract work as a Contracting Officer's Representative (COR).
Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level.
