Job Summary

The primary purpose of this position is to assist boiler plant operators in the operation and maintenance of upto six (6) high pressure/super-heated steam boilers on the boiler room floor, and auxiliary systems atthe Central Heat and Power Plant.
Key Responsibilities
-As Boiler Plant Worker, assists in starting, operating, adjusting, regulating, testing and stopping single or multiple fuel for high pressure steam oilers fueled by coal, refuse-derived-fuel (RDF), waste oiler a combination of these fuels and auxiliary pollution control and other systems in a Co-generation power plant. -Performs various minor operational repairs and routine preventive maintenance on boilers andassociated auxiliary equipment.
-Collects water samples and tests feed water, boiler water, and condensate using standard chemical tests. -Takes readings on all auxiliary equipment and pollution control equipment. Maintains records and logs per plant air and water permits, and documents actions.
