This position will allow you to use your expertise to prevent illegal entry of aliens into the United States by land, water, or air; enforce criminal provisions of the Immigration and Nationality Laws; and seek out and apprehend smugglers or aliens who are in the United States illegally. This position starts at a salary of $147,899.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to $192,275.00 (GS-14, Step 10). As a Border Patrol Agent (Assistant Chief), you will serve as a secondary administrative law enforcement officer (under 5 U.S.C. 8336 (c) and 8412 (d)). Your duties will include: Managing USBP Resiliency based national programs at the Headquarters level, with a multi-focus approach on building workforce resiliency for the agency.
Serving as a liaison between USBP and other CBP program Offices, community events, and coordinating functional activities related to day-to-day operations, while fostering community outreach, nurturing and harmonious relationships with the public at large and law enforcement partners. Formulating plans of action, new policies, and guidelines as necessary and presents briefings to USBP and CBP executives as well as internal and external stakeholders.
Directing communications between USBP Headquarter elements, sectors, and stations, identifies and resolves issues where policies and guidance are limited, providing enhanced internal and external communications. Conducting reviews to evaluation program problems associated with meeting the current and future needs of USBP and providing USBP senior officials and sectors with recommendations on the matter.
