Key Responsibilities
This position will allow you to use your expertise to prevent illegal entry of aliens into the United States by land, water, or air; enforce criminal provisions of the Immigration and Nationality Laws; and seek out and apprehend smugglers or aliens who are in the United States illegally. This position starts at a salary of $91,985.00 (GS-12, Step 1) to $119,583.00 (GS-12, Step 10). Salary above excludes COLA. As a Border Patrol Agent (Intelligence), you will serve as a primary law enforcement officer (under 5 U.S.C.
8331 (6C) and 8412 (d) and be responsible for: Performing intelligence collection, development and analysis, prosecution, investigation, and other work of comparable difficulty. Identifying, investigating, and apprehending terrorists, and terrorist-related weapons as well as transnational criminal organizations and networks, smugglers of aliens, drugs, and contraband. Utilizing, maintaining, and deploying a variety of complex and sophisticated technology systems.
Identifying and preparing reports on trends and patterns and presenting them to leadership.
