Job Summary

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Border Patrol, Swanton Sector, Sector Intelligence Unit, located in the following locations: Richford, VT Burke, NY Massena, NY

Key Responsibilities

This position will allow you to use your expertise to prevent illegal entry of aliens into the United States by land, water, or air; enforce criminal provisions of the Immigration and Nationality Laws; and seek out and apprehend smugglers or aliens who are in the United States illegally. This position starts at a salary of $91,985.00 (GS-12, Step 1) to $119,583.00 (GS-12, Step 10). Salary listed reflects the rest of U.S. scale and, if applicable, will be adjusted to meet the locality pay or special rate of the duty location and position. The Border Patrol Agent (Intelligence), serves as a primary-rigorous law enforcement officer (under 5 U.S.C.

8331 (6C) and 8412 (d)), duties and responsibilities include: Performing intelligence collection, development and analysis, prosecution, investigation, and other work of comparable difficulty; Identifying, investigating, and apprehending terrorists, and terrorist-related weapons as well as transnational criminal organizations and networks, smugglers of aliens, drugs, and contraband; Utilizing, maintaining, and deploying a variety of complex and sophisticated technology systems; Identifying and preparing reports on trends and patterns and presenting them to leadership.
