The Financial Management Division, Budget Branch is responsible for the budget formulation and execution process. The incumbent performs a wide variety of analytical duties connected with the formulation, justification, presentation, evaluation, execution, monitoring, and review assigned budget areas.
The incumbent assists in the formulation of policies, plans, systems and procedures to manage and continually improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the overall Bureau financial management.
The major duties of the Budget Analyst position include, but are not limited to, the following: Providing expert advice, assistance, and guidance to program managers and Bureau officials on all aspects of the allocation, use, and control of appropriated funds. Supporting the oversight of budget execution activities by monitoring inputs, outputs, and modifications to the Financial Plan.
Demonstrating and applying knowledge of federal budget formulation & execution processes, financial analysis, and relevant laws, regulations, and directives. Working collaboratively with colleagues across Directorates and program offices to support organizational goals, contributing to the completion of tasks that advance ATF's mission.
Preparing a wide range of budget materials, including justifications, operating plans, mid-year reviews, briefing documents, and funding reports, ensuring information is presented clearly, concisely, and accurately for internal leadership and relevant stakeholders.
