Job Summary

Major Duties

This position is located in the Bureau of Prisons (BOP) Administration Division, Budget Development Branch. Performs a variety of duties involving the formulation, justification and presentation of all Bureau of Prisons' budgets and the preparation of periodic and special reports. Translates raw budget data into a required budget format and exhibits, and prepares special financial, budget and project analyses for Bureau programs such as, obligations incurred, project status, modernization and repair of existing facilities and positions and work years required for one of the following Bureau programs: Manpower, education, drug abuse, medical , and Automated Data Processing. Institution commissaries and UNICOR. Plans, organizes, and carries out annual and multi-year budgeting in support of Bureau-wide programs. Provides expert advice on all phases of appropriated fund budgeting to program managers at all levels of the Bureau. Reports actuals and prepares estimates of the position, work year, budget authority, obligation and outlay requirements of the Federal Prisons System for the past, current, and budget years.
