This position is located at Bureau of the Fiscal Service, Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Chief Operating Officer, Office of the Deputy Chief Financial Officer, Financial Management Division. As a budget analyst you will serve on a budget team responsible for budget formulation, justification, presentation, and execution for assigned program areas, accounts, projects, or budget activities
The following are the duties of this position at the GS-12. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position. Perform budget analysis for assigned program areas, including budget formulation, justification, presentation, execution, monitoring, and reporting. Provide advice, guidance, analysis, recommendations, and technical support to management officials and program staff for budget planning and decision-making. Plan, develop, organize, and implement budget projections, spend plans, and forecasts for assigned program areas. Review and analyze estimates and supporting materials submitted by program offices. Coordinate assigned budget data calls and prepare recommended responses to internal management, departmental, OMB, Congressional, or other external budget inquiries, as assigned.
