Job Summary

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Finance, Budget Directorate, Budget, Execution and Analysis Division, Border Security Branch, Washington DC. Additional selections may be made to include other organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above.

Key Responsibilities

This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, Customs and Border Protection, Office of Finance, Budget Office, The incumbent performs budgetary functions and the purpose of this position is to advise and formulate budget requirements for all phases of work concerning the budget cycle. Typical duties include: Providing advice to top management on Federal budget execution.

Providing authoritative interpretations of congressional legislation and OMB policies and precedents and interprets and assesses the impact of new and revised congressional legislation on the formulation and execution of assigned program budgets. Projecting and analyzing the potential effects of budgetary actions on program viability and the attainment of program objectives.

Reviewing, approving, disapproving, and recommending the amount and timing of allotments of funds to agency components and programs. Analyzing financial and budgetary relationships to develop recommendations for financial and/or budgetary actions. This position starts at a salary of $121,785.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $187,093.00 (GS-14, Step 10) with promotion potential to $187,093 (GS-14 Step 10).
