If selected, you will serve as a Budget Analyst in the United States Attorney's Office (USAO) for the District of Hawaii. You will perform a wide range of administrative and analytical duties for administering the district's financial management program.
Typical work assignments will include: Planning and developing budget estimates for the district; Providing technical guidance, advice and assistance to USAO management on federal budget policies and procedures; Ensuring program funding requirements are prioritized, and that funds are efficiently distributed to support missions, objectives, and goals; Providing a wide variety of budgetary reports; Monitoring and tracking obligations and expenditures for the office; Managing the travel charge card program to establish and cancel accounts, and reviewing oversight reports to ensure proper program execution; Conducting cost-benefit analyses and forecasting future resource needs; Assisting in audits or reviews of budget and financial systems; and Presenting budget proposals and reports to leadership.
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress. This position is considered a career ladder opportunity, with a full performance level of GS-12.
If selected at a lower grade level, you may be non-competitively promoted to the next grade level at the discretion of your supervisor and is contingent upon meeting regulatory and legal requirements for promotion, satisfactory performance, and the availability of higher-level work. All academic degrees and coursework must be completed at a college or university that has obtained accreditation or pre-accreditation status from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
