Key Responsibilities
The Budget Analyst is responsible for a range of functions within financial management, including, but not limited to, budget formulation, budget execution, administrative management, systems accounting, and serving as a technical advisor. In this position, you will: Distribute allocated funds within an automated financial system in accordance with budgeted amounts. Develop budget execution plans within an automated financial system to meet time-phased requirements.
Analyze trends in fund utilization to prepare cost and performance reports. Investigate significant variances from the budget. Provide budgetary advice to the Director of Financial Resources and administrative staff. Explain budget limitations and program requirements to Director of Financial Resources. Analyze program and budget guidance to determine the impact on operations. Review requests for the reprogramming of funds to ensure local approval limitations.
Analyze the reasonableness of data and the consistency of estimates.
