Job Summary

This position is located in the Budget Directorate Branch of the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO). The Budget Branch manages the National Labor Relations Board's (NLRB) budget. The Budget Director oversees budget by planning, organizing, and directing the budget functions, including formulation, justification, preparation, interpretation, execution, and administration of the budgetary programs and policies.

Major Duties

As a Budget Officer (Budget Director), GS-0560-15, your typical work assignments may include: Supervising staff by providing guidance, training and oversight to accurate and timely budget preparation and reporting, and to ensure budgeting processes comply with regulations and internal policies. Preparing proposed budget requests to the Office of Management and Budget Request (OMB), Executive Office of the President and the Congressional Budget Justification (CBJ). Making resource allocation proposals to the Chairman, the General Counsel, or their designated representatives regarding the allocation of the Agency's available funds. Developing and maintaining budget records to ensure allotments and activities stay within Congressional limits or OMB apportionments, based on operating allotments or activity planning. Developing the Status of Funds Reports that outlines expenditure of funds by OMB object class codes, and by program activity.
