A moderate amount of standing and walking is required when attending meetings and conferences, and in visiting other offices and buildings throughout the facility. Major Duties: Assists in accounting, forecasting, and executing the Research budget. Performs a variety of budgetary, administrative, and statistical functions to determine funding program validity, form future budget needs, and provide written assessments to researchers.
Tracks funds distribution, monitors costs and expenditures, reconciles commitments and obligations, identifies excess funds, and prepares reports projecting the use of available resources as well as maintaining accounting data in the Research Management System database. Enters budgetary data into a variety of forms, schedules, and reports, and recommends and adjusts when required.
Prepares a variety of reports related to the status of funds, expenses, obligations, and workload. Serves as the Contracting Officer Technical Representative (COTR) for Research Service.
There is no education substitute or requirement for the GS-07 level.
