Key Responsibilities

Total Compensation Package - Check out IHS's outstanding total compensation package for this job: Nurse Practitioner Total Compensation | Pay (ihs.gov) All Grade levels MAY NOT be available at all locations. Not all locations may have immediate vacancies. Provides independent, preventative, therapeutic and comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care. Collaborates with Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

Performs accurate history and physical examination on obstetric, gynecologic and neonatal patients. Manages labor to include initial evaluation/hospital admission, ongoing assessment of maternal and fetal status, labor progress, need for intervention process and patient/family education and support. Provides postpartum care using a family centered approach.

Evaluates and manages the normal postpartum period to include determining hospital disposition, providing discharge counseling and conducting clinic follow-up.

Requirements & Education

This position has an education requirement. You are strongly encouraged to submit a copy of your transcripts or a list of your courses including titles, credit hours completed, and grades.
