You will serve as a CHEMIST in the ENVIRONMENTAL LABORATORY of NAVAL STATION.
You will serve as the chemist responsible for the qualitive and quantitative chemical analyses in a wide variety of environmental samples.
Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess Basic Requirements: 1 Degree: physical sciences, life sciences, or engineering that included 30 semester hours in chemistry, supplemented by course work in mathematics through differential and integral calculus, and at least 6 semester hours of physics. OR 2. Combination of education and experience -- course work equivalent to a major as shown in A above, including at least 30 semester hours in chemistry, supplemented by mathematics through differential and integral calculus, and at least 6 semester hours of physics, plus appropriate experience or additional education. For the GS-11 grade level, you may substitute the following education for the specialized experience: A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree with a major study in a field related to the position. OR Three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree with a major study in a field related to the position OR A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
