CISA's Integrated Operations Division (IOD) is the hub for staying on top of threats and emerging risks to our nation's critical infrastructure. IOD coordinates situational awareness and response to national cyber, communications, and physical incidents. The Protective Security Advisor combines all aspects of security. The official title of this position is Supervisory Security Specialist, GS-0080-15.
Typical work assignments at the GS-15 level include, but are not limited to: Leading and supervising Protective Security Advisors (PSAs) and serving as an expert advisor to Regional and CISA leadership and governmental and private sector officials on matters related to the security and resiliency of our nation's infrastructure. Functioning as the strategic, operational and tactical authority on critical infrastructure protection.
Representing CISA as a subject matter expert on critical infrastructure protection at conferences, workshops, panels, and studies. Serving as a principal advisor to senior government and private sector officials on security and resilience policies, assessments, and measures to protect national and regionally significant critical infrastructures.
Leading complex assessments, identifies dependencies, interdependencies, and vulnerabilities and determines cyber-physical nexus of critical infrastructure during special events planning. Deploying to Emergency Operations Centers to lead critical infrastructure response and recovery efforts under CISA authorities.
Participating in Joint Terrorism Task Forces, InfraGard, US Secret Service Electronic Crimes Task Forces and other working groups and bodies to provide security technical assistance and advise on CISA services. Coordinating with other supervisory colleagues within the Region and HQ to synchronize goals, engagements, resolve disputes, and establish professional development paths for subordinates.
Military Spouses & US Foreign Service Spouses Only: This position is remote work and telework eligible consistent with the Agency's telework and remote work program policy. Applicants who live within the local commuting area (i.e., a 50-mile or less radius from Glebe Road, Arlington VA (not driving distance)) are eligible for 100% telework in accordance with agency policy.
