This position is within the Washington Headquarters Services (WHS), SESD, in the Immediate Office of the Director and serves as the Chief of Staff and advisor to the Director and Deputy Director for matters in support of SESD and WHS. The incumbent is considered a recognized authority on the full spectrum of SESD related issues.
Duties require an expert knowledge of the roles and responsibilities, management philosophy, priorities, goals, and objectives of the SESD. Serves as the principal advisor to the Director and Deputy Director, planning, directing, and coordinating daily mission operations, organizational performance, and resource allocation (personnel, equipment, and facilities) for the Security Enterprise Services Directorate (SESD). Manages and executes comprehensive directorate support programs, providing executive oversight of property accountability, information technology, government purchase cards (GPC), official travel, training, parking management, and facility operations. Directs executive correspondence and task management, utilizing the Correspondence and Task Management System (CATMS) to ensure Division Chiefs meet suspenses, integrate with strategic plans, and seamlessly execute Directorate-wide initiatives. Evaluates and implements long-range strategic goals and process improvements, conducting highly complex analyses of financial management, legislative mandates, and operational practices to resolve controversial issues and generate precedent-setting decisions that improve overall customer experience. Prepares and delivers high-level executive briefings, reports, and justifications for senior leadership, translating complex programmatic issues into actionable trade-offs and compliance plans, while formally responding to Congressional and public inquiries.
