CYP Assistant (CY 1702-01/02) Provide appropriate specialized developmental care and instruction for children and youth in one or more Child & Youth programs. This includes the provision of guidance, assistance, and mentoring for the CY Program Assistants.
Duties may include assisting in the child's arrival and departure from the center, diapering, feeding, toileting, resting, etc.; developing and assisting with games and learning activities; observing and evaluating development levels and maintaining records and other related duties. Other duties may be assigned. CYP Leader (CY 1702-02) Provide appropriate specialized developmental care and instruction for children and youth in one or more Child & Youth programs.
This includes the provision of guidance, assistance, and mentoring for the CY Program Assistants. Duties and responsibilities of the CYP Leader have been grouped into categories, including mentor, curriculum, indoor and outdoor environment, interactions and relationships, supervision of children and youth, parent and employee communication, assessment, and compliance. Other duties may be assigned.
CYP Operations Clerk (NF 0303-02) Serves as a contact point for information and performs clerical and administrative tasks in support of the Child & Youth Program. Duties are related to record keeping and reporting, liaison with families and programs, and collection and monitoring of fees and supplies. Prepare and maintain reports, correspondence, and statistical and financial data. Assure accuracy of child registrations and enrollments.
Ensure USDA food program records are accurate. Maintain files and prepare daily, weekly & monthly reports in compliance with policy and procedure in a timely manner. Provide front desk coverage, answer phone inquiries, collect fees and process payments CYP Cook (NA 7404-08) Performs various tasks or a sequence of tasks in food service preparation. Prepare, cook, season, and portion food for all meals by following standardized recipes at various levels of difficulty.
Monitors temperatures and steam pressures, evaluates the condition of food being cooked at frequent intervals, and cook food evenly to prevent uneven cooking and drying out. Modifies recipes for ingredient quantities, the number of servings, and the size of equipment available. Other duties as assigned.
CYP Food Service Worker (NA 7408-04) Assist in food preparation with tasks such as peeling vegetables; cutting, sorting, and washing as needed; assembling sandwiches; and measuring and weighing ingredients. Stocks food service carts with appropriate utensils, plates, bowls, food and beverages, as required for family style dining in the classrooms or activity areas. Wraps, arranges, and/or packages items for serving to children and youth.
Cleans serving carts, food preparation areas, cupboards, drawers, and dishwashing areas. Performs heavy-duty cleaning tasks through the food service and related areas, such as cleaning ceilings; cleaning exhaust hoods; cleaning spaces under and behind kitchen equipment, including moving he equipment; washing floors and walls with powered cleaning equipment; cleaning walk-in refrigerators and freezers; and sanitizing garbage room.
Labels and dates all items in refrigerators and freezers and stores leftovers in accordance with sanitation and health standards. Performs other duties as assigned.
All positions require at least a high school diploma, GED equivalent, or secondary school diploma. Entry Level (CY-1702-01) A successful candidate must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent.
Intermediate Level (CY-1702-01) A successful candidate must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent, have six (6) months of experience working with children or youth in a child and youth setting AND have the following: Completion of Navy Entry Level training requirement (Army, Air Force, and Marine equivalent accepted).
Target Level (CY-1702-02) A successful candidate must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent, possess one (1) year of experience working with children or youth in a child and youth setting AND have one of the following: Completion of the DoD standardized training courses; OR A valid Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or Military School-Age (MSA) credential; OR A minimum of a 2-year degree in degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Child Development, Youth Recreation, Physical Education, Elementary Education, Secondary Education, Youth Development, or other field related to Pre-K or Primary Education.
Lead Level (CY 1702-02) Completion of DOD Standardized Module Training AND 12 months Experience at the CY-II (GSE-04) Level. OR Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or Military School-Age (MSA) credential AND 12 months Experience at the CY-II (GSE-04) Level.
OR A minimum of a 2-year degree in Youth Development, Child Development or a related field, which can include Recreation, Youth Recreation, Physical Education, Elementary Education, Secondary Education, Early Childhood Education, Psychology, Social Work, Home Economics with an emphasis in Human Development, or other degrees as appropriate AND 12 months Experience at the CY-II (GSE-04) Level.
