This position is part of the Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute, Bureau of Indian Education (BIE), Department of the Interior (DOI). As a College Residence Assistant you will be responsible for providing assistance in the daily operations of the Residential Hall Program. NOTE: THIS IS A READVERTISEMENT. As a College Residence Assistant, GS-0303-5, your typical work assignments will include the following under supervision: Participate in promoting student involvement opportunities in various engagements in campus student organizations. Assist in planning and implementation of education and recreation programs for residential students. Provide guidance regarding college rules, policies and procedures. Prepare and maintain administrative documents.
Conduct inspection rounds of residential hall premises to promote the orderly operation of the residential program and to ensure a safe and secure environment. Must be available for rotational work assignments and holiday staff coverage. Assignment to a specific shift cannot be guaranteed. Incumbent will be scheduled on rotating shifts as needed to provide residential hall coverage over a 24-hour period, seven days a week, with the possible exception of school breaks.
This position does not have a positive education requirement at this grade level. Therefore, no transcripts are required unless using them to meet the minimum qualification requirements. All academic degrees and coursework must be completed at a college or university that has obtained accreditation or pre-accreditation status from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (DOE).
