Air Reserve Technicians are full-time civilian employees who are also members of the Air Force Reserve unit in which they are employed. In addition to their civilian assignments, they are assigned to equivalent positions in the Reserve organization with a Reserve military rank or grade.
Appointee's civilian assignments will consist of the following duties.
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) officer to administer, schedule, and conduct training to develop, upgrade, and evaluate the skills of combat operations personnel in all aspects of combat operations doctrine, methodology, and systems; and to coach combat operations personnel on instructor technique, student assessment, and training techniques; to plan, conduct, and assess command post and field training exercises (CPX/FTX); to integrate unit activities with that of active duty battle staff personnel; to manage the operations division of the squadron; and to accomplish a variety of administrative duties related to training and mission accomplishment and squadron operations management.
DUTIES: DUTY 1: Training Responsibilities: Responsible to the Squadron Commander for conducting training for the upgrade, qualification, and currency of squadron personnel. DUTY 2: Exercise and battle staff training planning, execution, and assessment. Conducts, participates in, and reviews a variety of exercise program. DUTY 3: Plan development and execution. Assists in the development of plans. Prepares assigned annexes.
DUTY 4: Representation: Acts as spokesperson for the Combat Operations Squadron. Represents the Air Force Reserve to dignitaries and high ranking personnel during unit visits and while performing duty at or away from home station. DUTY 5: Operations Division Manager. Functions as the overall manager of the operations division within the unit. DUTY 6: Readiness Technical Support.
Provides unit Commander and division chiefs with technical support in developing and maintaining unit personnel readiness.
