The primary purpose of this position is: To assess the capability of commercial air carriers to provide safe, quality, and reliable airlift services to the Department of Defense (DoD) in compliance with USC 10 2640, Public Law 99-661, 32 CFR Pt. 861, and DOD Directive 4500.53.
Key Responsibilities
Serves as the primary expert and point of contact for Aviation Safety related issues. Maintains Air Carrier Evaluator qualifications and performs Air Carrier Surveillance and Performance Evaluations. Serves as a senior command staff action officer, representing the organization as an aviation technical expert providing flight operations issue assessments to the DOD Commercial Airlift Review Board (CARB). Represents Division to NTSB, FAA, ICAO, IATA, etc. on aviation safety.
