Commissary Officers are fully responsible for managing all activities and functions of the commissary, including the various departments (i.e., grocery, meat, produce, and where applicable deli-bakery), management support and other functions. They also exercise the full range of managerial and supervisory responsibilities for store employees. Read the entire announcement before starting the application process.
Manage all activities and functions of a commissary store to include the full range of managerial and supervisory responsibilities. Execute Agency policy, sales, and promotional programs. Coordinate with Area/Zone Manager in developing and implementing local commissary management policies and procedures. Analyze a variety of management reports and implement technology to determine/improve the efficiency of operations and initiate action(s) to correct deficiencies.
Manage and monitor all budget funding expenditures, find efficiencies that reduce expenses, and ensures execution is within the parameters of the funding program for their individual store. Direct, monitor, and adjust the overall execution of the store sales plan, improving product placement to encourage sales; ensuring product availability and optimization of stock levels to ensure sales goals and targets are met.
Establish, monitor, and adjust an inventory control program and a store security program that focuses on reducing shrinkage/waste and the elimination of fraud, waste, and abuse. Establish, monitor, and adjust a variety of programs to include safety, customer relations, sanitation, and patron identification programs. Fostering a positive work environment that improves employee engagement.
Initiate, approve, and obtain all required concurrences for personnel actions within the store. Promote DeCA goals and objectives of the Equal Employment Opportunity. Engages in Base/Community meetings/activities to provide insight and to promote commissary events with respect to stores hours, special sales events and more. Meetings such as: Command Staff; Welcome Aboard; and Town Halls.
